George Jewett
Anoka, MN

George Jewett, Anoka, was a great shot and one of my all-time favorite characters.  The huge, good-natured giant would fill up on hamburgers and beer and break 100 straight.  He won every Minnesota title, including the state championship at Breezy Point in 1933 with 198 x 200.  Jewett won the state high average three times and had a .9880 average early in 1938, the year he passed away.  There will never be another George Jewett in my book.
