Mrs. E. L. King, Winona trapshooter, big and small game hunter won the North American Women's Clay Target Championship in 1922 and again in 1923 to become the first and only Minnesota woman to win this coveted title. At Atlantic City Mrs. King broke 95 of 100 from 21 yards in the preliminary handicap for third place. No other women has finished this high in the preliminary. After Mrs. King and family returned from their African Safari in 1926, she wrote a book and gave all the profits to the ATA.
